Fair terms, plainly written.

1. License grant

When you obtain CopyClean, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on any Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. This license also extends to other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing, where applicable.

2. The free trial and purchase

CopyClean offers a 7-day free trial. During the trial, the app's cleaning features are available so you can decide whether it fits the way you work. When the trial ends, continuing to use the app requires a one-time purchase of $12.99 (plus any applicable tax), made through the Mac App Store.

It is a one-time purchase: there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Apple processes the trial and the purchase; the price you see at checkout, any tax, and your region's pricing are determined by Apple and the App Store. Apple's refund policy applies to purchases - to request a refund, you contact Apple, not us.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use CopyClean lawfully and as intended. You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or lease the app
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others

4. Intellectual property

CopyClean, including its name, design, and underlying software, is owned by the developer and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you a license to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. In the event of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights, the developer - not Apple - is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim, to the extent required by the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

CopyClean is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. While we build and test the app carefully, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will clean every possible character in every possible situation. You use the app at your own risk, and you are responsible for verifying any text before relying on it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to CopyClean is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages - including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption - arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

7. Apple's role

These terms are between you and the developer only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for it. To the extent the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. The developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, and consumer-protection claims. You acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

8. Third-party terms

When using any feature of CopyClean that interacts with the internet - namely the optional, off-by-default "Expand share links" feature - you must comply with the applicable terms of the services involved and with your own data-service agreement. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what that feature does and that it is disabled by default.

9. Legal compliance

You represent that you are not located in any country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties, and that you will use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

10. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under it end automatically if you fail to comply with any of these terms. You may also stop using the app at any time by deleting it. On termination, you must cease using the app; the disclaimers, liability limits, and ownership provisions survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of ____________, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or mandatory local consumer-protection law provide otherwise. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes may also be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use CopyClean after an update means you accept the revised terms.
